This title had a slow start and although I enjoyed the first book, Blackstone key, I wasn't sure about this one, since it started off at a much slower pace. But, Kevin Sands writes with such realism and the characters are so alive--by halfway into it, I was hooked and couldn't wait for our main character, Christopher Rowe, to figure it all out. In this book, the plague has London at a standstill, and everyone is panicking. Enter Malchior, a healer and predictor of the future. As everyone begins to believe in him, only Christopher, with friends Tom and Sarah, begin to poke around and discover the truth. Blackstone Key, the first book in this series, is on the Silver Birch 2017 nominee list.
