If I had to describe this story in one word, it would be thrilling. So much tension was constantly built up, that I had to keep reading to see how characters got through yet another challenge. Personally, I adored the action-packed, if rather gruesome, tale. Despite the gory details, The Maze Runner is full of suspense and demonstrates trust and growth of characters. I became emotionally-attached to some characters, and even shed a few tears when they faced such devastating hardships. Overall, I found this novel to be quite addicting, suspenseful, and heartbreaking. It’s a must-read! @ThePageDweller of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board The Maze Runner is a novel with striking similarities to other Famous books such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. This enhances the book rather than making it seem like a cheap clone. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world Where governments have full and strict control over the people. The protagonists are teenagers who are seeking to take back their freedom from their government. Their goal brings them at the brink of life and death many times throughout the book. The main character Thomas as well as several other kids are trapped in a maze and must find a way to escape. Solving the maze would be bad enough, the walls of the maze move every night so the layout of the maze changes everyday. The book is action packed all around and delivers many twists and turns throughout its story. The hunger games may be the book with all the action but the maze runner has a nice mystery setting about it. The Maze Runner book as well as its accompanying movie are both excellent. Id rate this book a 5/5. @Moebooks of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
