On the run after being falsely accused of murder, the three Baudelaire orphans find themselves in the Heimlich Hospital, with the evil Count Olaf in close pursuit. They need a safe place to stay--somewhere far away from terrible villains and local police. A quiet refuge where misfortune never visits. Might Heimlich Hospital be just the place? In Lemony Snicket's eighth ghastly instalment in A Series of Unfortunate Events, I'm sorry to say that the Baudelaire Orphans will spend time in a hospital where they risk encountering a misleading newspaper headline, unnecessary surgery, an intercom system, anesthesia, heart-haped balloons, and some very startling news about a fire.

The pace and the mystery is building with each book. I want to know everything.
The humorous writing style keeps me laughing and my hopes up even in the most unfortunate of circumstances.

**********SPOILER ALERT************

This book is the best book. You get so connected to Violet,Klaus, and Sunny then the thought of Violet getting a cranium surgery is an amazing plot and the 2 younger siblings going around the hospital alone when everyone thinks they are murders.

This is my favorite so far as the orphans are not just running from their nemesis Count Olaf and his minions -- they are workingisycamollaviadelrechiotemexity to turn the tables. Go get 'em, Baudelaire's!

I also appreciate the maturity we see in Sunny's gross motor skills -- she is walking now and in her vocabulary. She often blurts our real words now instead of gibberish. My favorite exclamation of hers is "pietrisycamollaviadelrechiotemexity" which means "The state of not having the faintest idea what is going on."

This book is my favourite book in the series. That is because this book is full of "What is going to happen next" and it's full of cliff hangers and funny moments. I recommend this series to you too.

โ€œThere are many things in this world I do not know. I do not know how butterflies get out of their cocoons without damaging their wings. I do not know why anyone would boil vegetables when roasting them is tastier. I do not know how to make olive oil, and I do not know why dogs bark before an earthquake, and I do not know why some people voluntarily choose to climb mountains where it is freezing and difficult t breathe, or live in the suburbs, where the coffee is watery and all the houses look alike.โ€
