An outstanding program! The core of the exercises are 1 to 3 mile runs, pushups and crunches, and pull-ups (make sure you put your thumbs on top of the bar ...). Week after week, nothing was more common for me than to look at the week ahead and think I couldn't do it, only to find that I could. I've gone on to try many of his other programs, and purchased workouts from his website. If you e-mail him with questions, he'll respond with two sentences at most, but he's a no-nonsense guy, with reliable advice. The only drawback is that some of his advanced programs are built for people like him - those with hours to devote each day to exercise. That explains the prominence of workout plans with swim goals of up to 1500 m *and* other exercises - something that would take us lesser mortals hours to complete. All told, this guy and his books are the real deal.
