Book News
This volume contains new estimates of Canada's gross national product and related measures for the years 1870 to 1926 and detailed descriptions of how these estimates were prepared. The final estimates themselves have already appeared in Engerman and Gallman's Long-Term Factors in American Economic Growth (U. of Chicago Press, 1986). The detailed descriptions of the way of preparing the estimates and the presentation of tables supplementary to them appear here for the first time. These detailed descriptions provide the means of assessment of the quality of the final product estimates and of their reconstruction or amendment. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
