I never had much of a chance to read goodnight moon when i was younger, and if i did i couldn't remember it, but this book made my heart feel warm and brought me to feel as if i was a little girl again. I loved having the little book in my arms, and still very much enjoyed the simple read. It is like childhood wrapped in a book.

Goodnight noises everywhere.

I'd never read this growing up but it was being discussed in a book I was reading Wild Things: The Joy of Reading Children's Literature as an Adult by Bruce Handy and I decided I had to read it so I could understand the appeal.

This was a super sweet, lovely little bedtime story. Super effective on all counts. I love that the illustrations changed to suit the story. Over 26 million copies have been sold, and another 600 000 to 800 000 are sold every year, so says Handy, which means there is a copy for 1 in 5 American children.

Harper Lee? Never heard of her. Mark Twain? Who's he?

A total classic.

I've never met a kid who didn't like this book. I read this during Family Storytime and even the most rambunctious toddlers stopped their fidgeting long enough to listen all the way through. The board book version of this classic makes a great baby shower gift.

My toddler loved it! He liked to look at the details in the pictures, and finding little mouse throughout the book :)

My daughter loved this book. She realized herself in loving routine actions of Kitty.

"Goodnight nobody" is the best line in the book.
