If Song of Wrath was a text on a history course, I'd finish it. As it stands, the numerous communities, large and small, all involved with Athens or Sparta, coupled with the relatively few individuals in the story, deaden your interest. That their ancestors preferred raiding each other and competing for status to uniting against the greater enemies across the water, indicates why the Greeks have their current social and economic problems.
