An excellent, action-packed series featuring interesting characters and lots of plot twists. Can't wait for season 3 (premieres September 10, 2017 on W Network).

This production can be divided into three genres: one is a period drama, the other is an historical romance cum fantasy, and the third and least portion is given over to soft-porn. I sometimes wonder when I see shows like this and The White Queen, what good actors must say to their agents when they realize just what they've fallen into. Times must be hard for actors when the likes of Simon Callow and Frances de la Tour have to serve time in a series with an unexpressive model in the lead, a himbo actor in the second lead and loads of gratuitous nudity coming up the rear.

I really only watch this show because a few good friends like it and I said I'd give it a chance. And out of curiosity as to where British drama (or is this American drama as the Starz Channel is producing it) has fallen of late. The series could have been a whole lot better if they had a proper actor in the role of Clare Randall and didn't add loads of gratuitous T&A. Like other commenters, I preferred the scenes with Clare and Frank adjusting to the post-war world of 1946-48. And Tobias Menzies is a much better actor than the folks playing Clare and Jamie, so he is a pleasure to watch when his character is not depicted torturing people.

There is a scene towards the end of the sixth episode of Season Two, where Clare is offended by the chit-chat of the ladies of pre-revolutionary France. She finds their obsession with sex and fashion to be shallow and insensitive. But really, are the people involved in Outlander in any position to look down on people doing exactly what they've done throughout their own show?

Both seasons are now on Netflix! I had been waiting for S2 since Jan and had still hadn't made it in the top 10 on the wait list.

A really well done series with high quality in everything from acting, costumes, production design etc. You should watch Season 1 first, to fully grasp the story in and all of the background. Ihighly recommend Outlander to anyone who loves great story telling.

Great, but no way to distinguish tween part 1 and part 2, so I ended up with part 2 of session 2 and am hoping by getting back on the waiting list I'll happen to get part1.
