It tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The BFG, while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part.

Wonderfull whimsy! Great mix of live action and CGI. Can't lose with an imaginative book from Ronald Dahl. Acting was great, and they would not be able to find a kinder face for the BFG than Mark Rylance. I give this film a 7 (delightful) out of 10. [Fantastic Adventure]

This was a great movie. No, it was not as fast paced as other juvenile films out there but it was still quite enjoyable.

I read the Roald Dahl book of the BFG when I was in Grade 2, and I still love reading it to this day. That’s seven years of reading about the giants, the BFG and all the characters in the story. I think that this was a good adaption of the book, however I think that the casting for the young girl could have been better; she was very unlike the girl I had in mind. But overall some parts were slower and it’s not the type of film that will make a big mark on me. Needless to say I recommend the book for sure and the BFG is my spirit animal!

It didn't really seem that great to me. It was interesting but I just really didn't enjoy it as much.

I wanted this adaptation of Roald Dahl's The BFG to be amazing, but it was just ok.

It is a great movie for the fans of Roald Dahl.
Finally Spielberg decided that he can afford to make a nice movie, and fulfill the last wish of his now dead friend and collaborator Melissa Mathison (keep to the plot of Roald Dahl's book, which is really perfect and doesn't need to be changed) and not some cheesy crowd pleaser.
Unfortunately movie directors often imagine themselves geniuses and change wonderful books into trash. It didn't happen this time, it was such a pleasant surprise for us:). The movie is maximally close to the book - my grammar nazi daughter was very watchful for the changes.:)
Actors are great, and Ruby Barnhill is perfect for the role of Sophie.

I didn't read the book and had no expectations of the film. I really, really liked it. :-)
