Allegiant, the third book of the Divergent series, was a very well-written and developed novel. I think that the character development throughout the entire series formed a connection between the characters and readers, which made this novel, in particular, more impactful. The action, romance, humor, and friendships that make this series were outstanding. This installment had a full plot of its own, and did not have any dull moments! It was full of even more realizations, developments and sacrifices. The ending was definitely bittersweet; however, at least in provided closure to the series. I would definitely recommend this book, and series, to other readers! @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I really liked this series. Though it was really sad and upsetting to see Tris and Uriah go, it just shows how well the author wrote it. She wrote it so that we would care about her characters and maybe even see them as friends too. A good author will write a story with a good plot and characters people care about and the Divergent series have both.

Allegiant - the final book of the Divergent trilogy. After all the war and political instability in their society, everyone is confused as to what is going to become of their world. So, to try and understand what could happen to their world, Tris and her friends go beyond their city's borders to the world outside. What they learn completely changes all their thoughts and beliefs of reality and what they decide to fight for. Once again, the author didn't disappoint with detail, as it was very well written. It was also written with both Tris and Tobias' perspectives - which I really enjoyed, but it got a little confusing at some points, so make sure you look at the indication of who's narrating! The story has a lot of serious themes. It definitely was the most emotionally impacting book of the three (be prepared and have a tissue box at the ending!), but overall if you enjoyed the other two books, you should definitely read Allegiant. I personally disagreed with the ending, but it gave the book a sense of reality where sometimes things don't go as they are planned. I really enjoyed reading this series, and would recommend it to a mature audience. (13+) 3.5/5 stars

Absolutely amazing, I love that Roth gave this book a really different ending from the others, that doesn't mean I like the fact that she dies. :( But it was, in a way a comforting becuase it really shows how reality it - everyone could die, even the main character.

I really liked Divergent. Insurgent wasn't nearly as good but I still liked it and think it was worth reading. I didn't even finish Allegiant. It was really disappointing and just not good at all.

The first book in the series was pretty good, and set up a really interesting world. After dragging through Insurgent which was a serious letdown, I was hoping for Allegiant to provide a decent conclusion, but I was very dissapointed. The third book somehow managed to make the other books worse and just gave a very unsatisfying conclusion.

As much as I wanted to read this book, I was really sad and disappointed with the outcome of all of the events, especially in the last couple of chapters. Although this book did not exceed my expectations, after reading the first two books, it was still really good. No spoilers here, but I felt really bad for Tobias:(

Warning- If you are younger than gr. 6 and want to read this book, I would suggest asking your parents/guardians first, because there are a few ~questionable~ moments/actions.

"There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater.

But sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life

That is the sort of bravery I must have now."

I agree with the comment below. I've been trying to rewrite the ending of the book so I don't feel so sad about the book. Why Roth? Why?!

Anyways a super quick summary of the book is basically when Tris and company go outside the wall and find that other people are living out there and are trying to figure out why.

Tris finds herself in a world outside of her old one, which turns out to be an experiment and finds herself in a whirlwind romance with Tobias and learning about this new place, the fringe and the purity war. Then it's discovered that long ago the government messed with genes and some are known as GP (geneticaly pure, no messed up genes) or GD (geneticaly damaged, messed up genes) and GD's are looked down upon. The Divergent are GP's and, after an examination, Tobias and Tris discover Tris is GP and Tobias is not. Also Marcus is sentanced to go outside, where Tobias finally escaped him. Then a girl named Nita draws in Tobias to a revolution, one Tris dosen't trust. Tobias continues to help and participates in a explosion that puts Uriah into a coma he'll never wake up from. They almost break up but get back together and lead a real rebellion, one that Tris sacrifices her life for for the greater good. Overcome with grief, Tobias nearly erases all his memories, stopped by Christina, a close friend of Tris. They later become good friends themselves. You will feel the love for the couple as they discover the other is a part of themselves and will be teared apart like Tobias when Tris is gone. An amazing ending to an incredible series.

The last instalment of Veronica Roth's "Divergent" series is better and more action packed than the first 2 books. In this book, Tris Prior and her boyfriend, Tobias Eaton (Four) travel outside of Chicago to the behind the fence. Here they will learn the meaning of the factions, and the experiment that revolves around it. In the compound Tris and Four learn what exactly what it means to be Divergent.
Follow Tris and Four, and all there friends (new and old) in the final book of the series.
