This is a go to recommendation for upper elementary/lower middle school. The book is full of action and adventure. The characters are fun and I enjoyed getting to know them. I love the different alien races! The series is complete and I highly recommend it for lovers of science fiction.

Loved this book! great plot, engaging characters, and a wonderful setting. The only thing that still bothers me: The End. It feels as though there are still a lot of loose ends when the book comes to a close, and I would greatly enjoy a sequel that resolves at least some of them.

Zeke Reynolds has been selected to represent Earth along with three other delegates. The delegates are all very bright kids that were chosen for their specific skills and intelligence. Zeke is selected as a random, meaning he was selected purely by chance, this does not make the other Earth kids happy. There is a job to be done and the kids must prove Earth’s worthiness so that they can join the Confederation of United Planets. They feel that Zeke is not smart enough and will only bring them down. They decide to leave him out of all their plans as they work on their skills and leveling up. As Zeke learns more about this planet he discovers something is not as it seems. It is up to Zeke and the other randoms to save themselves and the planet Earth.
