The savage struggle to take control of the North American wilderness during the epic Seven Years' War between France and England is a gripping tale. As the two European powers battled each other for global supremacy, the brutal conflict took on a unique North American character, particularly in the role Native allies played on both sides.

A good overview of the French and Indian War and its background, written by a career officer in the Canadian Forces, now a professor at the Royal Military College. The book seems geared towards the school aged reader, given its brevity (it's a hundred pages and change), but works well for the adult reader as well. The author has a crisp, precise style of writing that works well in bringing across the events of the time.
