I spent a moderate amount of time going, "Ted Lasso? What are YOU doing at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games?!" -- ignoring that, though, this was an interesting movie with great acting.

I enjoyed this film about Jesse Owens going to the Olympic Games in Berlin. My favorite part is where Jesse becomes friends with a German Olympic athlete named "Luz". I still wondered about something. After watching this movie, I think…

Uneven movie. Here you have heavy hitters, Jeremy Irons and William Hurt, then Jason Sudeikas from Saturday Night Live playing the coach???? Really?? So he compares to Bob Knight and Tony Dungey??? Sorry, that's the extent of my coach…

Great story about Jesse Owens...a must see for all those that don't know who he was...a great individual who was treated so badly.. yet overcame everything to be a genuine hero.

The CG scenes of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin are sublime. You get the whole 360-degree mass spectacle vibe -- which was such an important part of Hitler's success -- but in this case you're wearing Jesse Owens spikes. Good story; timely…

These two years of the life of Jesse Owens show his strengths exhibited and trials endured. The script missed the opportunity to bring in the Hitler character as the monster he was, rather showing the German producer of the Games as the…

Video makes you stop and think. Do you represent yourself, your race, your country or your ideals? Can they be separated? Do you sacrifice talent for a paycheck? Have we corrected our outlook on athletic venues, highly-paid athletes,…

A really good biopic here. Good acting, wonderful period staging (shot largely in Canada subbing for the USA). Some serious historical inaccuracies if you are the type (like me) who like to read up on the real story behind the movie.…
What a tribute to one of the United States best athletes of all time. Jesse Owens came out of poverty to become one of the most famous athletes of the 1930's. "Race" captures the man, his obstacles, and his finest accomplishments. The…

I think everyone was expecting a lot more from this flick. The movie "42" much better orchestrated the experience of Black athletes in this country. It is a shame because Jesse Owens is one of the most remarkable athletes of all…

Great film about Jesse Owens and his spectacular performance at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Also a story about race relations in the U.S. and in Nazi Germany. Pleasure to see some individuals could see beyond color and religion and…

Agree with all the good things said about the film and truly enjoyed how Owens single-handedly ruined Hitler's big show for the Nazi doctrine of Aryan supremacy. Also, dramatized or not, loved the wisdom as a sport competitor from Owens…
